Hello, I'm so glad you’re here!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Brandi Laufer and since I was 18, I have worked in the Aerospace/Defense industry in some capacity or another. For the past 17 years, I have managed fast-paced, highly technical projects/programs within the Aerospace/Defense industry. Saying I have a lot of hard lessons under my belt is an understatement! I have used these lessons to hone my soft skills as a project manager and I can help you do the same.
Growing Myself
I grew up as a military brat, and for those familiar with military life, you know it comes with its challenges. My dad and stepdad both served on active duty for over 20 years, working long hours for what often amounted to modest pay. Their dedication taught me the value of hard work and sacrifice, but it also inspired me to carve out my own path.
At 24, I chose to join the military myself, serving a four-year term in the Army. I used my GI Bill to earn my bachelor's degree—completing a distance learning program while raising a young child and preparing for another! Nearly nine years later, I faced a decision: my GI Bill benefits were about to expire. Though I was working full-time and raising a blended family of four children, I knew I didn’t want to let that opportunity go to waste. So, despite the challenges, I went back to school and completed my MBA with an emphasis in Project Management in 2007.
Sink or Swim
I've always been the "just do it" kind of person when I set my sights on something. Straight out of high school, I started as a clerk typist at a defense contractor in New Jersey, where my professionalism, eagerness, and diligence earned letters of appreciation from the government commands I supported.
That same drive carried me through my military service, where high-ranking officials in my battalion specifically requested me to set up and maintain their communications equipment. In the civilian sector, I continued to push boundaries, building a successful career as a female manager in a predominantly male, defense-focused industry. No matter the challenge, I’ve always thrived in a sink-or-swim environment—and I chose to swim.
Why Me?
Throughout my project management career, I became the go-to person for peers seeking advice—whether it was navigating tough situations, structuring their projects, or refining their leadership approach. I always found fulfillment in helping others succeed, but over time, I realized that mentoring wasn’t just something I enjoyed—it was what truly inspired me.
That realization led me to take a leap. I left my corporate job to start my own coaching business, dedicated to helping people like you grow into confident, capable leaders.
So here I am ready to help. I'm so excited to be part of your journey!
Let’s do this!
Warmest Regards,
Brandi
