General Questions

  • What is project management coaching?

Project management coaching through Chrysalis Consulting is a personalized 1:1 coaching program designed to help individuals improve their project management skills, overcome challenges, and achieve their professional goals.

  • Who can benefit from Chrysalis Consulting project management coaching?

Anyone involved in managing projects can benefit from my coaching program, including but not limited to project managers, operations manager, and team leads. If you manage projects, people, brief senior management, deal with difficult customers, or have challenging team dynamics, I can help.

  • How is coaching different from training?

Training focuses on providing knowledge through structured courses, while coaching is a collaborative process tailored to your specific goals and challenges. Coaching often includes practical guidance, accountability, and real-world problem-solving.

  • What are the qualifications of the coach?

I have an MBA with an emphasis in Project Management. I have spent the past 15+ years working in the defense industry managing complex, highly technical programs, most of which required earned value reporting.

  • Do you offer group coaching or only one-on-one sessions?

Currently only one-on-one coaching sessions are offered. To inquire about group coaching, please contact me at brandi@emerginrprojectleader.com.

  • What if I don’t feel coaching is helping me?

As part of the coaching process, there are regular progress evaluations to ensure you’re benefiting from the coaching process. If adjustments are needed, we will work together to ensure you’re getting the support you need.

  • Do you help with PMP or other certifications?

No. My coaching services are designed for individuals that have some Project Management experience (generally less than 5 years) and focus on soft skills rather than book knowledge. There are many certification bootcamps that would be better suited for that type of training.

Coaching Process and Structure

  • What does a typical coaching session look like?

Prior to becoming a client, the initial discovery session is a 30-minute meeting that probes deeply to understand your specific issues, concerns and needs. It is extremely important to me that you feel comfortable with me as a coach. So, the discovery meeting will also determine if we’re a good fit as coach and client.

From there, sessions are structured to address your needs and goals but may include goal setting, discussing current challenges, reviewing best practices, and creating a coaching plan. There may be work assigned that will need to be completed outside of our meetings.

  • How long does the coaching process take?

The program is 10 sessions and is designed with your needs prioritized. There is no way I can shorten the program AND provide the foundation you need.

  • Is coaching conducted in-person or online?

Since my services are offered online, the coaching sessions are held virtually.

Value

  • What kind of ROI can I expect from coaching?

As we progress through your individualized topics, learned strategies can be implemented into your PM toolbox immediately after each session. Clients often see improved project outcomes, enhanced team performance, better time management, and increased confidence in managing complex projects. As with almost anything in life, the value of coaching depends on the individual and the work they are willing to put in.

As part of the coaching process, there are regular progress evaluations/coaching metrics to ensure you’re benefiting from the coaching process. If adjustments are needed, we will work together to ensure you’re getting the support you need.

Next Steps

  • How do I get started?

You have two options here: If you're somewhat on the fence, you can book a complimentary 30-minute discovery consultation. During this session, we’ll discuss your goals, challenges, and how coaching can help you succeed. You'll also get the opportunity to get know me a bit before making any commitments.

  • What if I’m not ready to commit?

I offer a complimentary one-time, no-obligation 30-minute discovery consultation to help you determine if me and my coaching program are the right fit for you. Chrysalis Consulting is not responsible for the length of time it takes to actually receive the refund.

  • Once sessions have been scheduled with the Client, they are considered set appointments. However, if necessary, the Client may request to reschedule a session, if they provide a minimum of 24 hours advance notice.
  • Any missed sessions or cancelled sessions with less than 24 hours advance notice will be forfeited and are not eligible to be made up.
  • If unexpected circumstances prevent the Client from completing all their scheduled sessions in the allotted timeframe, the Client can work with Coach to reschedule. .
